6 min read
  • Established in 2019, based in Seychelles
  • Wide variety of trading options
  • Regulated in over 20 jurisdictions
  • Available on Desktop and Mobile alike

Established in 2019, Global Markets is a new Contracts for Difference (or CFDs) trading platform, based in the Seychelles. The broker services more than 20 countries around the world, including most of Europe, South-East Asia, and Australia, but notably excluding the United States of America.

Global Markets offers a variety of CFDs trading products, including the most popular foreign exchange pairs (Forex), commodities, stocks, and indices. The platform is easy to navigate and opened positions are easy to keep track of.

The broker is welcoming towards inexperienced investors and offers a variety of learning resources – an online academy, coaching sessions, e-books and financial courses – which are designed to teach the basics of CFDs and Forex trading. There is also the option to open a demo account with real market conditions – an invaluable tool to any trader who wishes to practice strategies before investing hard-earned capital. You can do so today and experience Global Markets for yourself, free of charge.

As for the important question – Global Markets is a fully regulated broker in over 20 countries around the world, compliant with international requirements and agreements; in other words, Global Markets is not a scam, but a 100% legit trading platform.

In this review, we will take an in-depth look at all those aspects and provide more information on the platform itself.

Global Markets is a multi-assets CFDs and Forex trading platform. Contracts for Difference are a complicated instrument with an inherent risk of total monetary loss due to market fluctuations and leverage.

Never invest more money than you are willing to lose. You must not engage in CFDs trading without setting up clear goals and risk tolerance levels. If you wish to learn more about the underlying principles of CFDs and Forex, the broker offers a range of learning resources designed to teach the basics. Join Global Markets today, and start learning!

  • Global Markets Protection Level – Scam or Not?

Global Markets is not a scam. The platform is regulated in the Seychelles and operates in over 30 jurisdictions, each with its own set of laws and regulations. Global Markets also is fully compliant with international anti-money laundering laws and requirements, and is a 100% trustworthy broker.

Account Security

You can enable an optional two-step authentication process when logging in to increase the protection level of your account.

Funds Safety

Global Markets employs Negative Balance Protection. Negative Balance Protection is a policy which makes it impossible for a trader to owe money to the broker. In other words, your Global Markets account balance can never go below zero, and you can never lose more money than you have in your account.

All traders’ funds are kept separate from company’s funds. This measure dissuades fraudsters and makes it impossible for your money to be used for improper purposes.

  • User Interface

Global Markets operates on SIRIX, a well-established Forex trading platform with social trading features. The platform can be accessed through most devices, including desktop and mobile, and has a user-friendly interface with easy-to-navigate layout. SIRIX supports social trading and does not require traders to install any additional software (though this option does exist) to access the full functionality of Global Markets.

When you log in, you will be greeted by a simple candlestick visualization of a major Forex pair, and a column on the left with the most popular options. Customization is easy – you can add additional visualization (you can choose from over 50 different options), or select a group of investment products from a drop-down menu.

Browser Platform

Global Markets is available on any device through a web browser. We tested it using Firefox 67.0.1 and found no issues running the SIRIX interface on a medium-class Notebook computer. The visualizations are not heavy on your RAM and we did not experience any browser crashes.

Mobile Platform

Global Markets is also available on mobile devices through official releases on the Google Play and the App Store. We tested the mobile port on an iPhone XR. The basic layout of the mobile app is kept the same, with buttons and options just where we expected them to be. Still, the interface has been properly adapted to the smaller screen, and we didn’t find ourselves squinting at our phones.

Unlike other apps we’ve tested, the Global Markets SIRIX app is not battery-hungry and did not ask any unnecessary permissions. Download the mobile app today on Google Play or App Store.

  • Transactions

Account Currency

You can open an account in one of three available currencies – USD, EUR and GBP. Choosing the currency for your account is an important step as any transactions to and from your account will be converted to that currency. In addition to that, once you create an account, you are not allowed to change your currency of choice.

You can deposit to your Global markets trading account using a bank transfer, a credit/debit card deposit, or e-wallet services (Paypal, Neteller, or Skrill). Bank transfers may take up to 5 business days to be processed, but all the other depositing options are instantaneous. There are no minimum depositing requirements.

Global Markets does not impose depositing fees, but it is worth checking with your financial services provider whether they impose fees on depositing to online services. Another unexpected expense may result from currency exchange rates, should you deposit money from an account that doesn’t share the currency with your Global Markets trading account.

You can get around such fees by using banking products with multi-currency accounts. Products such as Transferwise or Revolut offer multi-currency accounts with low or no international transfer fees, and are a popular choice among Forex traders.

Global Markets follows all international anti-money laundering laws. As a result withdrawals can only be made to a source you’ve already deposited money from. For example, if you used a bank transfer and Skrill to deposit money to your account, you will only be able to withdraw money to your bank account and Skrill wallet.

There are no fees imposed on withdrawing money from your account. All withdrawal requests require a copy of a photo ID and a bank statement, and are processed within 7 business days.
